Yes, I have been enjoying this site - why?

Back in the day when I knew little about the intrene there was a site that had founded on the idea of a web-set a site distributed accross mnany servers. It never really took off due to it being one guy with a job and a family.

Well these days that site (mad-den.net) is still about and is again doing what they do best. Only this time SlapZ is there too!

The mad-den Index had been running a topsites which is where you leach a small image through a script and get points the mroe you do it. Very bandwidth heavy for a small SEO gain (I think SEO is stupid by the way).

Well when they moved into Lord Matt's servers they were not exactly doing very well. You see lots of spammers were pullingthat image and it was hurting the server load (likea DDoS). So we created a subversion out of it and mad all sites number one.

We also did something cleaver with the image so that it stopepd hurting things too.

If your site is "top" grab the badge that says so.

One cunning subverter has noticed that googlebot get's in where others are required to login. So, he reasoned, if we dress up in girls clothing.... no hang on that's not right... oh yes I remember now, if we dress our browsers up as google bots we can get free access.

As msot of you sometime fans of mine know I am actually making money while I have fun SubVerting... actually that is not true. I accidently earn money as a side effect of terrorising people who refuse to engage thier brain (or have small furry things where the sun shines not).

I was thinking that what thi site needs is some blatent comercilism. Paid posts, sponsered links and all that crap. The only question is what sort of advertiser would be brave enough to let me advertise them so directly?

In a post titled "Some SEO Basics and Alexa Rank Mistakes" one of the few members here (Lord Matt) let s know that some people have a lot more in thier bum than alexa (did I mention that alexa has a small greasy pig up there too?) For some reason that makes no sense to me people redirect all their pages through alexa to try and boost the rather dodgy mad-sheep-up-your-bum alexa rank.

If it really matters to you read post 916 where Matt shows how to spoof the alexa server with an image to get the rank you want.

In the 2007th year and the 7th month of that year when the sun was setting on the 11th day I mentioned that our Alexa rank was 1,012,947 meaning that, according to Amazon.com, there were a million sites more important than this one.

A whopping 9 of you read what I had to say on the ranking of sites not really being the most vastly important thing in the history of amazingly important things since King Kong ate curry and needed to use the big gorilla's room.

Well, our Alexa rank is 756,146 meaning that (if you choose to believe a company with a ferret up their arse) we are now more important than 256,801 other sites that less than a month ago wee vastly more important than us. While this might be good news for some it merely shows us how utter and diabolically #OOPS#e a quarter of a billion sites actually are. Perhaps we could groundlessly estimate that over a quarter of the Internet is not worth looking at.

Actually that sounds pretty generous.
